and into 2013

Onwards and upwards for 2013.

There are a lot of ‘new’ lists around blog land at the moment. Well, it is the time of year for reflecting and making new plans.

So here is my list of ‘want to dos’/achieve/learn for 2013. (in no particular order)

– improve/rejig my blog
– start selling on Etsy
– don’t leave Christmas sewing until the last minute
– find a more time efficient way to follow blogs
– finish my medallion quilt and all the outstanding hand stitching projects
– be more ‘social’ online, link ups, SALs, Flickr etc. etc. (oh the ‘communicating’ list is huge!) all to make more friends!
– have another go at dressmaking
– improve ALL of my quilting skills, instead of my current “just do it and see what happens” approach
– take much better photos

I’ve already got a few things in place which will help me achieve some of the above list.

I’m late in joining the party with this one, I’ve seen it around blogland for a while now, but I figured it will be a good all rounder. Even better that its free to join and no time limit for completing. I signed up for the 2012 BOM just before Christmas, but have since noticed that Craftsy are running a new 2013 version as well, “Hmmm, should I stick with the 2012 version, do the 2013 version, or both?”

Rachel is running this class again after its success last year, registration opens tomorrow (1st January) there are limited spaces and its on a 1st come 1st served basis. I really need help with my curves, so I’m ready to sign up tomorrow – hope I get a place!

I’ve also signed up to Handmade Horizons Marketing eCourse which starts at the end of January. Granted, it’s not the physical act of sewing, but its going to be very interesting.

There is also the Fat Quarterly Retreat in July that I’m lucky enough to be going to. Can’t wait!!
I’m also considering joining these SAL’s:
Sugar Block Club with Amy Gibson
Lucky Stars BOM at Don’t Call Me Betsy
Ange has also hinted at a monthly book review/giveaway/sew-a-long.
I’m sure if I look a bit closer I’d find many many more SAL’s as well. Although I’m conscious that I maybe already spreading myself a bit thin.

And then there are the numerous link ups, so to get me started off I’m linking up to Plum and June’s Let’s Get Acquainted Monday Link Up right now and it’s still 2012!

Phew! Well I’ve finally come to the end of a very wordy post, is anybody still there?

Good luck and best wishes for 2013.

Happy New Year!!

I joined the 2012 BOM on Craftsy late too! I had no idea a 2013 was in the works. Good luck with your curves class registration!

Happy New Year! I set my post for my monthly giveaway so it’s up now, you just need to select a book project and get stitching! I’ve already over-committed with a quilt along with Pile o’fabric which looks great, and a gen x quilt along http://www.genxquilters.com/, and did I mention a Simply Solids UK Bee. And I need to finish last years Craftsy BOM, i have 4 blocks to make, and want to make up the quilt for me at some point- I daren’t look at this years, although I could sign up and then pick and choose the blocks I felt like making, nothing wrong with that. : )
