So, August is fast drawing to a close and it really has flown by. I’m slipping in a few non-sewing photos today, I hope you don’t mind.
We spent hours playing with these HUGE bubbles, fun!
My blog break inadvertently turned into me almost unplugging as well. I’ve hardly read any blogs, only popped onto Instagram infrequently, looked at my emails even less frequently than Instagram and my sewing machine hasn’t seen the light of day, it may just have cobwebs on it!
August has been a month of holidays, spending time together and catching up with friends and family.
Lifeboat Day number 1
|Lifeboat Day number 2, where you were able to clamber aboard for a good look around.
Can you see my two at the top?
We had a lovely holiday in North Wales the weather was good to us by Wales standards (I judge this by the fact none of us wore jeans the whole time, shorts and skirts all the way!). The theme of the holiday turned out to be the RNLI, we caught two lifeboat days and visited another lifeboat station.
Dressing up in real uniform, a very happy boy!
We even managed a few days at the beach
It was a lot warmer than it looks, in and out of the sea all day.
And you can’t visit North Wales with a boy and not visit at least one castle, its the law!
I had an afternoon to myself earlier this week which was such a welcome change. I spent the time writing my To Do/Want To Do list and its turned out to be a biggy, colour coded and prioritised so come Monday I’m ready to get back into it. In fact I’m already feeling twitchy wanting to get started.

And, now there is just the weekend before school starts again and life will return to normal for a while. But before Monday I’ve got the obligatory last minute sewing in of name labels into school uniform to finish, (yes he’s grown. I started the summer not needing to replace many items, thank god I had the foresight to double check last week!), a family bike ride at Clumber Park tomorrow and a house to tidy because at the moment its a tip!
Bye bye Summer, Autumn is just around the corner.
