Introducing Sewing Notions!!
Fantastic Four – Day 3! is the first of our new ranges and I’m so exciting to finally tell you about it.
On Tuesday I wrote about New Beginnings, and the introduction of a whole new category really is a New Beginning for Duck Egg Threads. It marks the start of a whole new chapter for the shop and recognises the success of the past 18 months.
There is no getting away from the fact that Liberty Tana Lawn although beautiful, it is more expensive than quilting cottons. Its because of this that people covert it, stash it and in some cases become addicted to it!! *wink wink* It is saved for special projects and cherished.
Wether it be machine or hand piecing, EPP or appliqué, Liberty is a perfect way to showcase a multitude of gorgeous prints in smaller quantities – just think of the Millefiori La Passacaglia pattern and how perfect it is for your favourite Liberty prints. Hand stitching is having a revival. Slow Sewing projects that are portable are giving us the chance to slow down in our increasingly busy, ‘plugged in’ lifestyles.
The range of notions we have focuses on hand sewing picked from a selection of instantly recognisable quality brands. Specialist Appliqué pins for small needle-turn appliqué, Aurifil thread for piecing, Glue Pens (and Refills!) for EPP, and a whole range of needles to mention just a few. You’ll find all the Sewing Notions in the New In section as well as in the main menus. I’d love to hear your thoughts and if I’ve missed your favourite notion from the range please let me know.
I’ll be blogging more about the new Sewing Notions range in the coming weeks.
But before then, look in again tomorrow for the final Fantastic Four announcement – you are going to love it!
